Aligarh Muslim University i.e. AMU is going to celebrate its centenary celebrations on 22 December. It will include Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the chief guest. This is the first time in the last 50 years that the Prime Minister is going to address any program of Aligarh Muslim University. Earlier in 1964, the then Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri addressed the convocation of AMU.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also issue a special postage stamp to make this ceremony memorable. Aligarh Muslim University Vice Chancellor Prof. Tariq Mansoor said that he will address the centenary celebrations through video conferencing from the Prime Minister.
