School Education Minister said that children of private schools will not get general promotion

School Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar said that general promotion will not be given in any class in the schools of the state. He said that in view of the current economic difficulties, private schools affiliated to the Board of Secondary Education will not be obliged to deposit the recognition fee at the time of application for recognition.

They will be able to collect the said fee by the end of the upcoming season 2020-21. The minister was holding discussions with representatives of non-government affiliated schools affiliated to the CBSC on Wednesday. Parmar said that providing education is a great service for the upliftment of society. In this corona crisis, all of us together have to shape the future of the children of the state. He said that apart from giving education, it is also our collective responsibility to protect us from corona.

All necessary and important decisions will be taken for the better future of children. During the discussion, representatives of non-government schools briefed the minister about the problems faced in the running of the schools in the circumstances arising due to infection of Kovid 19 virus. He informed that the tuition fees of children from class one to twelfth are not being deposited by the parents. 

Due to which there is a problem in the salaries of teachers and the operation of the school. Along with this, the delegates suggested to extend the academic session of this year till 15 May 2021, to conduct classes VI and VIII from January 2021 and classes from class I to V from 15 January 2021.

He urged the minister to waive the electricity bill, school bus tax, RTO permit and property tax till the unlocked period from April 2020.

The minister clarified that detailed guidelines will be issued soon regarding the conduct of classes from class 9th to 12th. Decisions regarding classes from class VI to VIII will be taken according to the circumstances of corona virus infection. The Union Education Minister will be requested through Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan to extend this year’s academic session. 

He appealed the delegates to cooperate towards improving the educational future of children. Representatives of non-government schools including Commissioner Public Teaching Jayshree Kiyawat, Director Public Teaching KK Dwivedi were present in the meeting.
