Only the 500 meter radius at Lakhanpur, the gateway to Jammu and Kashmir and both ends of the Jawahar Tunnel on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, are placed in the Red Zone category. The daily number of devotees of Mata Vaishno Devi has been increased to 25 thousand. The Jammu and Kashmir Disaster Management Committee under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary BVR Subramaniam has issued instructions after reviewing the current status of infection in the state.

All educational institutions in Jammu and Kashmir opened on Monday. The COVID protocol is being followed completely. The District Deputy Commissioner will no longer be able to declare the lockdown locally. The decision on lockdown can be taken only in consultation with the State Committee on Disaster Management. There will be no restriction on the movement of passengers by road, rail and air. Only antigen test will have to be done. The District Deputy Commissioners have been instructed to review the cases of Kovid 19 every week and to focus on sampling, especially in schools.

Classes
from 9th to 12th started from today from February 1 to ninth to 12 classes. The teaching staff of primary classes also reached the school, which would ensure arrangements to start classes by 8 February. All classes will start at eight. Colleges and universities will also open with full potential.

All examinations of
engineering and law will be through offline, all examinations of students of engineering and law departments under Jammu University will be through offline. A notification in this regard was issued by the Controller of Examinations on Sunday.
