The Allahabad High Court and CAT’s lawyers for the Education Services Tribunal continued their judicial work for the second consecutive day on Thursday. Advocates in both places will continue work boycott on Friday as well.

It was decided to continue the movement unanimously in the meeting of the High Court Bar Association on Thursday. Jitendra Nayak, vice-president of the CAT Bar Association, said that in support of the High Court bar, CAT’s lawyers will continue to do judicial work on Friday.

It was decided in the High Court Bar’s General Assembly that on Friday, the High Court would gather at the Hanuman temple in the square and take out a procession to Subhash Square and protest against the Tribunal not being built in Prayagraj. Advocates said that the tribunal is non-essential. The purpose of getting justice from them is not being fulfilled. Therefore, the Central Government has taken the appropriate decision to abolish the tribunals. The Supreme Court has also ruled that the tribunals are necessary in their decisions. The tribunal has become a burden on the state exchequer. On the other hand, the state government is working under pressure from bureaucrats ignoring the importance of Prayagraj. However, neither the teachers nor the non-teaching staff ever demanded the tribunal. The meeting was chaired by the association’s

president Amarendra Nath Singh and the operations general secretary Prabhashankar Mishra. The meeting was attended by Jamil Ahmed Azmi, Ajay Kumar Mishra, Anil Pathak, KK Mishra, Rajinikanth Rai, Anju Srivastava, Abhishek Shukla, Dilip Kumar Pandey, Rajendra Singh, Manju Pandey, Durgesh Chandra Tiwari, Governing Council Member and Advocate were present. VK Upadhyay and Sandeep Srivastava of the International Advocate Council have also opposed the bill to make the Tribunal’s head bench in Lucknow, calling it an unjust act of the government.

Bar council called the tribunal undemocratic

UP Bar Council member secretary Devendra Mishra Nagarha, former president and members BK Srivastava and Panchuram Maurya, co-chairman Rakesh Pathak, former members ABL Gaur, NC Rajvanshi and TP Singh have termed the Uttar Pradesh Education Services Tribunal Act 2021 as undemocratic. Along with this, supporting the movement of the High Court Bar and the proposal of the Teachers Union, the government has demanded the withdrawal of the bill.

Secondary teachers union gave support

The Uttar Pradesh Secondary Teachers Association (Pandey faction) has supported the movement of High Court Bar Association. Sangh District President Anil Kumar Mishra and District Minister Rajiv Singh said that this tribunal is a hindrance in getting accessible justice to the teachers and is contrary to the interests of the teacher society. Both the officials sent a letter of support to the High Court Bar and said that the Sangh is ready to step by step in this movement of the High Court Bar.
