The Union Ministry of Education has entrusted the DU to prepare a detailed report. Following this, the DU administration sought suggestions from the teachers. The Delhi University Teachers Association (DUTA) has objected to not getting enough time to make suggestions.
Duta president Rajib Ray has written a letter to the caretaker vice-chancellor, demanding more time for the teachers. It is written in the letter that the Acting Vice-Chancellor’s Office had on March 23 asked the principals, heads of departments regarding the suggestion. Two days later, teachers were informed about this. Presently, the college is busy with the department open book examination. Holi also had a holiday. Since the Higher Education Commission, there will be significant changes in the education system. Therefore, it is important that teachers have time to make suggestions. DUTA President Rajib Ray said that another similar attempt wasmade in 2018. But then due to the nationwide protest of the teachers, the government had to pull back from the formation of the commission.
It is worth noting that the acting Vice Chancellor of DU Prof. PC Joshi had written in a letter to all the colleges and departments that a large number of colleges have been associated with DU. The number of faculty is also high. DU’s experience in the formation of the Commission can be useful. Considering this, the Union Ministry has sought suggestions from DU. In the letter, colleges and departments were requested to organize online, offline meetings. Email your suggestion to the Director of the Institute of Life Long Learning by 30 March. The important meeting to discuss these suggestions will be held on April 1 in the North Campus.
