Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel said here on Thursday that under the new education policy, 50 percent of the youth will be able to achieve the goal of higher education by 2030 only when the focus is on ensuring education of children in primary schools. Addressing the 15th convocation of Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University, the Governor called upon government and private educational institutions to adopt these Anganwadis to provide all the basic needs in the Anganwadis of the state.
He said, “There are 30–31 government universities and 40–50 private universities in the entire state. There are more than 50,000 colleges with them. If every college adopts all Anganwadis in the state, then these Anganwadis will get all the things that we want. ”
Patel said, “The solution to the evils like dowry is education. Once I made up my mind to go to jail and went to show women prison with 15-18 year old girls. There the girls talked to the female prisoners, which showed that about 325 women have been punished for killing the daughter-in-law for dowry. “
He said that the purpose of showing the girls to jail was to get them exposed to the evils, due to which women rot in the jail. He said that collective thinking is needed to remove these social evils through education and universities should make students aware by organizing such programs.
On this occasion, All India Organization Minister Mukul Kanitkar of Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal, Nagpur said, “Open education is learner-centered, in which the student learns the subject matter according to his pace and need.”
He said that this university will also have to make efforts in successful implementation of National Education Policy 2020. He said that playing a leading role in the field of research also, this university has taken a meaningful initiative by establishing the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Research Chair.
In the convocation ceremony, 19 students were given gold medals and other students were awarded various degrees.
