Due to corona, the changing form of education is preparing for radical changes. The Government of Chhattisgarh is providing school children education this year through the Tuhan Duar portal. In the new semester, there is also preparation to conduct online computer-based examination.
Chhattisgarh Infotech and Biotech Promotion Society (CHIPS) has issued a tender for this. The advantage of computer-based examination can also be found in the board examinations like 10th-12th of the session 2021-22. Apart from this, there is a readiness to adopt online formula in the examinations of universities in higher education.
At the same time, the school education department has decided to make every child’s information online from the new session. About 60 lakh children of both private and government schools will be entered online. Along with the admission, details of the children’s names, their father’s name, mother’s name and their educational status will be made online.
Benefits will be available in various schemes
From the scholarship scheme of school children, the benefit of schemes like mid-day mill, uniform, free books etc. will be extended to the children in a transparent manner. The Education Department will have complete data, on the basis of which plans can be made.
This challenge in online examination and entry
However, there is still a lot of challenge in conducting online examination in the school education department. Schools with no internet connection have to be made smart schools. Smart schools without internet have been opened in tribal areas of Bastar and Surguja. 28 percent of smart schools do not have internet connection.
2606 smart schools have been opened in the state, out of which the Internet is available only in 1920. In such a situation it is a challenge to arrange the internet here. Under the Central Government’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) scheme, smart classes are set to be opened in four thousand 330 schools in the state.
Till now, computer labs have been set up in Raipur, Balod, Bemetara, Dhamtari, Durg, Mahasamund, Rajnandgaon, Balodabazar, Kanker and Janjgir-Champa. A computer lab has been set up in Dantewada in tribal-dominated Bastar and Surajpur in Surguja. The process of setting up the lab has not yet started in the remaining districts. Lab will also have to be established here.
Both private and government school children will be brought to a portal. The information of all children and their Aadhar card will be updated on the portal. Children will get the benefit of the schemes directly.
