The order for filling up free admission applications in private schools under Right-to-Education (RTE) is in progress. In the second phase, the last date to apply online is June 10. So far, 7036 parents have applied for admission of their children in the second phase. The BSA office has also forwarded 7028 applications. On the other hand, many parents have applied for the same child 18-18 times. So far, 2158 such applications have been identified through the software. Preparations are on to cancel these applications. At present, the investigation of the applications is going on.
The second lottery will be taken out on 15 June for free admission to private schools. The target is to have the admission of selected children in the concerned schools by June 30. In the first phase, 6875 have been selected through lottery. Due to the closure of the school, even twenty percent could not be admitted. District Coordinator Vimal Kumar Keshari said that due to the closure of the school, all the selected children could not be admitted in the first phase. In such a situation, the parents have been instructed to contact the concerned institution after the school opens. It is said that the list of selected children in the first phase is also uploaded on the portal of RTE.
25 percent fixed
The Right to Free and Compulsory Child Education-2009 has a provision to determine 25 percent free admission in private schools against seats in pre-nursery and class-I children of disadvantaged groups and weaker income groups.
