On Friday, Director General of Education Vinay Shankar Pandey issued orders to all the Chief Education Officers of the state to stop arbitrary payment of fees in private schools. Earlier on April 25, the order was also issued by Education Secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram asking to take tuition fees only in the case of private schools to study online. Nearly 25 days after the order of the Government, the Director General of Education has now directed the Chief Education Officers in all districts to strictly stop arbitrary private schools.
Pressure is being put on parents to pay increased fees. This is completely wrong. He clarified that as long as the online studies are taking place, the schools will charge only tuition fees.
Director General of Education Vinay Shankar Pandey said that parents who are unable to pay this fee will also have to write a letter to the Principal of the school to explain their problems. Private schools have also been instructed to form a committee to listen to the problems of such parents and give them more time to collect fees. Under any circumstances, if the parents of the students are not able to collect the school fees, then the students will not be dropped out of the school. Strict action will be taken on complaints of schools doing so.
