A six-day online lecture series was organized for students of MSc first and third semesters in the chemistry department at CM Dubey College. This lecture series was held from 9 to 14 May. Its main objective was to make the students understand the esoteric topics of chemistry in a simple way and to encourage the students for competitive exams.
The keynote speaker for the first and second day was Dr. Ashish Tiwari, who is currently the head of the Department of Chemistry at Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Government College, Pamgarh. He explained very closely the basic of NMR application in elucidation of organic compounds and nucleophilic substitution. This excited the student and listened to his lecture for three consecutive hours.
On May 11 and 13, Dr. Hemant Kashyap was the Head of Department, Government College Kotari Mungeli. He highlighted the main points of Mechanism of Substitution Reaction and Electron Transfer and Square Planner Complex and Trans Effect. On the fifth and sixth day of this series, Dr. Ganesh, Head of the Department of Chemistry, Dantewada gave a pithy lecture on the subject of Electrocyclic Reaction and Cycloedition Reaction.
The college’s principal Dr. Sanjay Singh said that the chemistry department has been an excellent department since the beginning. Such programs increase the knowledge of the students. Quiz poster essay competition has been organized by the department from time to time. Other professors of the department, Varsha Burman, Preeti Patel and Deepak Singh were also supported to make this program a success.
