Online studies at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhilai in Chhattisgarh are proving to be inadequate during the Corona era. Alam is that the lab (lab) based subjects of students studying engineering here have been postponed for further studies. It is having the most impact on the students studying in the second semester.

Just say that there is a break in the studies of the students doing B.Tech in the second semester. Most of the subjects in this semester are experiment based, these students are from the batch of 2020. However, similar lab based tests are not being conducted in other semesters. IIT Manager has decided to first teach theoretical subjects in the next semesters, except lab based courses, so that the students do not have a bad year.

It is not possible to teach experiment-based subjects online. Most of the studies are related to research work by appearing in the lab. IIT management says that last year we will complete the syllabus of the students whose lab based syllabus is incomplete. In such a situation, if the outbreak of corona is not reduced, then these students will have to set a guideline for the degree, otherwise it will be difficult to get the degree on time. The situation is more or less the same in other IITs of the country.

Hence revision of curriculum (curriculum)

IIT professors say that it is compulsory for students to attend laboratory-based courses. Being a theoretical subject in the first semester somehow led to online studies, but in the second semester the whole study is lab based. Because of this, students have been promoted in the next semester only on the basis of theoretical studies.

But, in the time to come for practical studies, they will have to take extra time. The corona outbreaks are waiting to subside. The second wave of Corona is still underway. Therefore, the syllabus (theoretical) of the theoretical subjects currently taught in further semesters has been revised earlier and the subjects of the lab have been postponed.

Studies are being done in these branches

IIT Bhilai is studying in 183 seats in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering and Data Science. IIT is an autonomous institution. There is a Board of Governance here. In this, the chairman, IIT director and members from the Union Ministry of Education are appointed on behalf of the institution. With their consent, the curriculum has been changed.

The same situation in TripleIT

Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee is also teaching and revising the course at the International Institute of Information Technology (TripleIT) Nava Raipur. Here, academic head Rajarshi Mohapatra said that it is difficult to conduct experiment-based studies online.

IIT Bhilai director Rajat Moona said that the second semester of the 2020 batch was yet to start, but research is not possible without a lab. Therefore lab based studies have been stopped. Will decide further according to the guideline.
