In the Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls’ Schools of the district, a breakup of Rs 47 lakh is being expected. This apprehension is being expressed on the Prerna Portal due to lack of details of the number of girl students and expenditure. The Director General of Education has sought a reply from the BSA and the District Coordinator within 15 days.
Kasturba Gandhi Girls’ Residential Schools operate in 13 blocks of the district. It has registration of hundred girl students in each school. Due to being a residential school, teachers and other staff along with girls from class six to eight stay in the school. A budget of Rs 47 lakh was released from the government for food, stationery, soap, oil and essential goods from the government for consumption along with the education of the girl students. The warden was to upload the details of the itemized expenditure on Prerna portal by spending the released budget. Here schools were closed due to Corona.
Even after that, between February 11 and March 31, it has been reported that the students spent Rs 47 lakh in food, goods and other items. There was a stir over the withdrawal of money from the account and not appearing online on Prerna Portal. Director General of Education Vijay Kiran Anand has given a reply giving 15 days of deferment.
BSA Pradeep Kumar Pandey said that there has been no embezzlement of money. The money has been spent in shopping for essentials along with the food of the girl students. The details of this were also prepared. The money spent due to difficulty in online feeding of Prerna Portal could not be raised. This has caused this problem. The list of items purchased along with the expenditure on food and the status of expenditure budget have been called from the warden of each block. That will be made available to the government.
