Under the New Education Policy 2020, the State Council of Education Research and Training (SCERT) has started work to provide the children of Bihar their courses in local languages. In the first phase, the details of local bids are being collected.
The Joint Director of SCERT has sought information from all the DEOs about the local language spoken by the children of primary, secondary-higher secondary classes of their district. A letter has also been sent in this regard to the principals of DIET, BYTE, CTE and PTEC. The Joint Secretary has said that this information is very necessary for the implementation of the new education policy.
He has requested PTEC Patna and Diet Muzaffarpur to review the list sent and provide the information again. The Education Department has suspended the Block Education Officer of Bithan in Samastipur district, Sanjay Kumar with effect from March 24, 2021. During the suspension period, they will continue to get living allowance as per rules. It may be noted that Sanjay Kumar was arrested on 24 March 2021 by the raid team of the Surveillance Investigation Bureau while taking bribe and was a Bihar Government Servant (Classification, Director of Secondary Education, Girivar Dayal Singh has sought information from eight districts of the state for assistant teachers posted in Government Project High Schools, who have obtained higher degrees without permission. These districts include Kaimur, Sheikhpura, Saran, Siwan, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Patna and Samastipur.
