The two-day special vaccine of the Education Department will start from Monday. About 200 centers will be set up in the schools and colleges of the state for vaccination. During this, about 1.25 lakh students, teachers, non-teachers, parents, water carriers and mid-day meal workers will be vaccinated. To make the campaign successful, duty of three to four teachers has been imposed at each vaccine center.
These teachers will report to the Directorate of Education after every two hours. A target has been set to vaccinate 200 to 300 people at each center. Priority will be given in applying the vaccine to the final year students of colleges starting from July. Apart from this, all the students above the age of 18 years, their siblings and parents will also be able to get the vaccine by participating in this special campaign.
From July 1, the attendance of teachers has been made mandatory in schools in Kullu and Lahaul-Spiti districts, including winter schools. In such a situation, these teachers will also be vaccinated in a special campaign to be held on June 28 and 29. Director of Higher Education Dr. Amarjeet Kumar Sharma said that talks have been held with the Health Department to make the vaccine campaign a success. He has appealed to all the eligible students and teachers-non-teachers to get the vaccine during these two days.
There is no condition to give the test only to those who vaccinate
The Director of Higher Education said that only after applying the vaccine, students will be included in the examination in colleges, there is no such condition. All eligible students will be able to appear in the examination whether one has vaccinated or not. He said that it is the effort of the department that every student should be vaccinated before the examination. If a student is not able to get the vaccine for any reason, then he will not be stopped from taking the exam.
