The Department of School Education has now swung into action due to arbitrarily increasing fees by private schools. On the instructions of Inder Singh Parmar, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for School Education, a notice has been issued to Jawaharlal Nehru School of BHEL in the matter of fee hike and a reply has been sought within four days.
Inquiry report against Jawaharlal Nehru School has been submitted by Joint Director Public Education. It states that the school has increased the fees by more than 10% as compared to the previous year, which is in violation of the rules and instructions of the Madhya Pradesh Private Schools (Regulation of Fees and Related Subjects) Act-2017. Jawaharlal Nehru School has been found guilty in the investigation of complaints made by the parents. On this, the School Education Minister has directed strict legal action against the institution.
The School Education Department has issued a show cause notice in this regard and has sought clarification from the school management by July 6. In the absence of this, taking unilateral action, it has been said to send a proposal to the state government to cancel the recognition of Jawaharlal Nehru School, to end CBSE affiliation and to withdraw the no-objection certificate issued for CBSE recognition.
