This year, the students going to appear in the CBSE Board 10th and 12th examinations will be given ample time to prepare for the board examinations due to the loss of their studies. Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank made this announcement while addressing students and parents in a live session on Thursday 10 December. He said that the exams should be held only in March, it is not necessary. According to the circumstances, the dates of the examination will be decided. The Ministry of Education may also conduct board examinations on or after April.

Nishank had sought suggestions from students on social media last week regarding this year’s board exam. After this, a large number of students and parents demanded the cancellation or postponement of examinations from the education minister. The students said that this year, due to corona infection, school closures have caused a lot of physical classes and they have not been able to get enough time to prepare for the exam. Addressing this dilemma of the students, the Education Minister has assured the students that adequate time will be given at the time of preparation for the exam.

He also said that at the time of the announcement of exam dates, full care will be taken to ensure that the dates of any entrance exam of NTA are not clashed with the dates of practical examinations. The examinations are to be held on reduced syllabus this year. The board had already reduced this year’s syllabus due to the loss of students’ education. The education minister has also asked the NTA to reduce the syllabus for this year’s JEE Main, NEET 2021 examinations.

CBSE recently re-activated the application link for private students. For students who have submitted their application, the link for the correction in the form has been opened from 10 December today and will be available till 14 December. Students can visit the official website cbse.nic.in to make the form correction.
