The State Government Teachers Union District Chamba unit has demanded to bring the cadre of TGT under the Directorate of Higher Education. He said that due to the large number of JBT and C&V teachers in the Department of Elementary Education, it has become extremely important to take TGT under the Directorate of Higher Education.
Himachal Government Teachers Association (HGTU) District President Sanjay Thakur, General Secretary Yog Raj Rana, Finance Secretary Dhirendra Sharma and Principal and Secretary General of all the segments have issued a joint statement saying that currently JBT, C&V and TGT teachers are placed in the Elementary Department Whereas, school lecturers come under the Director of Higher Education.
He said that teachers have been wrongly classified according to number and work, which needs to be corrected. He argued that the posts of TGT Arts and TGT Medical in higher and senior secondary schools are created by the higher directorate. Whereas, his control goes to the initial directorate. It has become necessary to reduce the work load in the Elementary Wing by dividing the number of teachers equally in both the Directorates. He said that the only solution to solve the financial, administrative and promotion issues of the TGT class in a time bound manner is to provide relief to the teachers by issuing notification to bring the TGT class under the Directorate of Higher Education without any further delay.
