Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has asked the School Education Department to explore the possibility of reopening schools. In the order given by Thackeray, it has been asked to review the situation to open schools only in those villages where not a single new case of corona has been reported for the last few months. He has also asked the officials to ensure that schools are reopened as per the COVID protocol.
First 10th and 12th classes will start
Welcoming the CM’s decision, Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad said that the department will find out the safe resumption of classes in those villages which have become corona free. We will initially explore the possibility of reopening the classes of class X and XII. The department will also consider all possible measures before reopening the schools.
Will bear the expenses of children who lose their parents due to Corona
The School Education Department has proposed to bear the expenses of all the students of classes I to XII who have lost their parents in the corona pandemic. The CM appreciated this decision and asked the department to submit it to the cabinet for approval.
