State Education Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary gave information about how many teachers have died due to corona in Bihar on Friday. Vijay Kumar Chaudhary said that the Education Department has a list of 693 teachers who lost their lives due to Corona. Responding to a starred question raised by CPI MLC Kedar Nath Pandey in the Vidhan Sabha, the State Education Minister said that 693 teachers have died due to Kovid-19 in Bihar.
Pandey said that no financial assistance was given to the families of the deceased teachers. The CPI MLC said, “Even though the department has got the list of such teachers, no financial help was given to their family members.”
Choudhary, however, replied that the list of Covid deaths was prepared after review by a committee headed by the district magistrate. This committee sends a recommendation to the Health Department, which sends a recommendation to the Disaster Management Department, which approves an ex-gratia of Rs.
Issue of cancellation of recognition of Zakir Hussain High School, Patna raised
JDU MLC Ghulam Rasool raised the issue of cancellation of recognition of Zakir Hussain High School, Patna. Rasool through calling attention said that the school is providing education to a large number of students and has its own infrastructure and has conducted many examinations here. It was recognized as a non-government minority school in 1983. Rasool further said that the Director BSEB had earlier stopped the affiliation and later canceled it. He appealed to the government to take immediate cognizance of the matter.

However, the education minister said that the department does not have any paper regarding the recognition to be given to the school. He said that if the school has any paper then they should submit the paper. Choudhary further said, “In a report submitted to BSEB it was found that the school does not have its own land and a clerk was made the principal without qualification.” However, several MLCs requested the Education Minister to personally look into the matter as it is an old school and was assisted by the Chief Minister, his deputy and MLAs.
Monsoon session ends
The monsoon session of the Bihar Legislative Council concluded on Friday. Acting Speaker Awadhesh Narayan Singh expressed his gratitude towards all the members for performing their duties diligently and participating in the business of the House. All the members stood silent for a minute and prayed for those who lost their lives in the tragic bus accident in Barabanki.
In the five-day session, 183 questions were given for listing by the MLC, of which 160 were shortlisted and 75 were answered. Similarly, a list of 38 Calling Attention Motions was prepared, out of which 20 were shortlisted and replied to.
