Adviser to the Lieutenant Governor, Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar said that the curriculum of education should be prepared according to the need. He inaugurated a two-day workshop on the subject of better inclusion of facts in the textbooks of the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education.
The workshop was organized by the State Council of Educational Research and Training in collaboration with the Department of School Education. In the workshop, Principal Secretary, School Education Department, BK Singh, Board of School Education Jammu and Kashmir Chairperson Prof. Veena Pandita, Director School Education Kashmir, Tasdduk Hussain Mir, Banaras Hindu University, Barkutla University, Jammu University, experts from the Education Department participated.
Advisor Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar said that changes in the education system are necessary under the National Policy on Education. Only by implementing the education policy in a better way, we can bring about a significant change in the education sector. Describing the importance of education in the development and prosperity of the nation, he said that since the formation of society and the world, education and training have been an important part of it. There is a need to expand the education infrastructure. The population of the younger generation is more in our country.
We need to use the power of youth properly for the development of the nation. The curriculum of education should be prepared according to the need. Bhatnagar asked all the participants to use their academic experience, knowledge and other resources to achieve the goal.
Principal Secretary BK Singh said that there is a need to include regional facts in the text books. In the welcome address, the Chairperson of the Board of School Education, Jammu and Kashmir, Prof. Veena Pandita said that there should be better facts in the text books.
